Anime Wallpapers

Some very frustrating news guys and girls. I accidentally deleted the previous news posts while playing around with the database, which has put me in quite the predicament as I now have to start the news section from scratch. So I guess this is the first post, again. Yhay!

But that aside, I’d like to tell you about some changes I have planned for AW. Firstly, I plan on redoing how the artists page is shown. Also, I’ve had multiple requests for animated avatars and I agree, why shouldn’t your avatars be animated.

I’m thinking of adding a points system, giving members points whenever they do something, I.E: You upload a new wallpaper (receive 20 points), you comment on someones wallpaper (receive 10 points). Then, this is the cool part, when you have enough points, you can buy things for your wallpaper gallery, like a colored username, little icons and basically be able to customize a lot of stuff. We then could have a richest members system and perhaps even add in a bank that when you store points into you get interest. I could even setup a donate button on the wallpaper pages so you can donate points to the artist if you like his/her work.

Create a new batch of smilies and better integrate them into the textarea fields, so when you submit a wallpaper or post a comment, you can have smilies in them.

The 3 file sizes (800×600, 1024×768, 1280×960) aren’t very sufficient and are not easy for a newbie to find, so I’m currently planning on revamping that section and add more file sizes.

Anime-Wallpapers.com is ready for the big step-up of having it’s own forum, integrating this into the site will not be an easy thing and will take time, but expect this to go into development soon.
